National Park
Maine
Our favorite National Park on the Eastern half of the country, Acadia offers 47,000 acres of absolutely surreal scenery - from its woodlands and rocky beaches to its granite peaks and quaint downtown. In our humble opinion, it's one of the only places on the East coast that captures the "big nature " feel of many western National Parks. Home to the highest point on the East Coast, the first place you can see the sun rise in the US, and lobster packed meals galore - it's truly a magical place to getaway. Highly recommend a visit here + neighboring Bar Harbor during late August / early September to capture the tail end of Summer and beginning of the autumn leave spectacular.
