National Park

Utah

Canyonlands is SO fascinating and unique. You drive up a cliff of a mountain to get there only for the landscape to become suddenly flat and prairie like (seriously we saw prairie dogs) and then drop off into the steep, carved canyons. The park itself is home to four districts, each with its own personality: Island in the Sky, The Maze, The Needles and the rivers. One of the most famous and well known arches, the Mesa Arch, can be found at The Island in the Sky and is a must-see attraction as it lets you peer deep into the canyon and the millions of years of geological history that formed it. Canyonlands is absolutely massive and impossible to do all four districts in one day, but Island in the Sky can be easily visited when making a trip to the neighboring Arches National Park!
